Throughout the years, there are some occasions that are difficult to forget, and one of them is our recent excursion to Singapore. A few months back, Mik and I traveled to Singapore to meet up with my husband since he was already in the country for business purposes. We stayed at the Royal Park Hotel Beach Road which was a few meters to Bugis and was ideal for the toddler since we were exploring. It was a nice and quiet place and we were ready for relaxation in the comfortable room with the city just outside the window within the time span of the report.
This is how our fun and exciting trip went.
Taking a leisurely Stroll around the City
Mik and I would be up and uk around the same time every morning. She would be up and looking forward to the adventures for the day between the two of us. We take our time and head around Singapore to see more of Singapore using her hand push stroller. So we headed out to Kampong Glam and Bugis, and took a stroll through these two lively and vibrant districts. Mik enjoyed peeking at the playback of the vivid murals charging through the narrow alleys with unparalleled outlets.

Pro Tip: Singapore’s streets are very walkable, and having a lightweight stroller makes it even more enjoyable. It gave my daughter a comfy place to sit when she was tired, while I could take in the sights.
The Grand Mosque Sultan
The Sultan Mosque (Masjid Sultan) is one of the main attractions I was very keen on visiting. Singapore was interesting to explore because of the unique architecture of this beautiful mosque with its golden dome against the backdrop of colorful shophouses in Kampong Glam. Each step towards the mosque brought me to another part of the world full of life and culture.
Mik fell in love with the sights of the mosque and since there was not much noise, it was ideal to take a break and simply enjoy ourselves. The nearby streets being no different, bustling with people, cafes, and shops took our attention too. She also enjoyed seeing some of the colorful murals and buildings, making it not just a fun but also a very cultural trip for us both.
Coffee Break at % Arabica & Fore Coffee
Another highlight of the intake was having a coffee break at % Arabica which we shallfully had. Visiting the quaint cafe in Singapore was also a blessing as we were able to enjoy some nice coffee. Sitting down was quite wonderful, my daughter had some light snacks that we had packed earlier while I enjoyed my cup of coffee which was incredibly smooth and fragrant.
The ambiance of the café was soothing and was just right for the exclusive moment that my mother and I wanted. This was one of my most cherished moments of the trip as it included just watching people go by, sharing the odd laugh and enjoying the tranquil times together.

The following day, Mik and I thought of visiting Bugis Junction along with the other malls. The atmosphere was always fun, and there were so many shops that she did not get bored, even whilst walking around the malls. We didn’t spend much time shopping—only browsing was alright—but we both enjoyed the trip. Mik was so impressed with the colourful show windows, while I appreciated not being overly busy with strict schedules.
A Peaceful Night at Gardens by the Bay
In my opinion, the most relaxing activity for me during our vacation was going to the Gardens by the Bay in the evening. My husband was with us to celebrate this nice evening and all three of us had fun together. It was very dark, but the Supertree Grove was lit up creating a wonderful glow in the gardens. Mik kept her eyes glued to the twinkling lights and the tall trees. My husband and me, however, were feeling content with the lovely setting. It was a great way to conclude a relaxed, as well as a satisfying day, being in the outdoors and surrounded by gorgeous nightfall. I am especially fond of that evening with just the three of us, where I can feel the calmness.

Pool Time and Play
Without any hustle and bustle, we relaxed and lounged for the hotel’s pool all day long – a retreat that turned out to be my daughter’s most favorite activity of the trip. What could be better for a 3-year-old than a short time at the pool, and splashing around in the water during Singapore’s sunny climate was even better.
While we were at the pool looking over the city, we could see parts of Marina Bay further away. It was a great morning splashing and watching her play, and seeing the city’s buildings as a backdrop was a nice way to set the stage for yet another day of adventure.

Our trip to Singapore was more than just a vacation; it was a chance to slow down, connect, and savor the simple joys of being together as a family. From peaceful walks through the city and relaxing coffee breaks to quiet nights under the glowing trees at Gardens by the Bay, every moment felt special. I’ll cherish these memories forever 😉
